The problem

AI ended the written exam’s credibility.

There is no reliable way left to tell a student’s own writing from a language model’s. Written take-home work, the format most online courses leaned on, no longer proves the student who gets the grade is the one who did the work.

+30% more courses at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem moved from take-home assignments to in-person exams over two years: a direct retreat from a format institutions no longer trust.

The same loss of trust shows up further down the stack too: recycled question-and-answer banks, and paid stand-ins sitting certification and training courses on a student’s behalf. Every workaround costs honest students and the institution’s own credibility.

A typed answer travels well: between tabs, between students, between a browser and a paid essay mill. An oral answer doesn’t. Vokalix asks students to say their answer aloud, verifies who is speaking, and watches the room while they do it.

How it works

Launch

The student opens the exam from inside your LMS. Their identity and course context arrive with the launch, so there’s no separate account and no extra password.

Verify

A short camera and microphone check confirms the student, the room, and the equipment before the clock starts.

Speak

Each question is answered aloud. Speech is transcribed and scored live; the room is watched for the duration.

Grade

A grade and a proctoring report are generated the moment the student submits, and the grade is written back to your course automatically.
